Our last rides in Colorado

We left Lake City Colorado on the 22nd of September and took a long ride to Salida, Colorado. We stayed for a week at 4 Seasons rv park, just outside of Salida. We too route 114 instead of rt 50 and Monarch pass. The road was good, although a little longer, but no big pass to cross!

Our plans included a ride with our friends, Dave and Theresa and Sterling and Rosie. Dave and Theresa bought a 2012 Polaris Razor and have been riding it all over Colorado. For our ride we chose the 4 Mile South area, near Buena Vista. This was the area that we lost the muffler on the Rhino, last year. The trail had at least 3 gates that we could not get through! However one had a fence gate we could open and the other 2 we just drove around the end. Dave likes to drive FAST! So the only time he was in my video was when we stopped and started up again!! If you are ever in the Howard Colorado area, be sure to stop at Banderas Bunkhouse Rv Park and stay or just to say hi to Dave and Theresa!

Our last ride was to Marshall pass and on to Sargent, Colorado, where we had lunch. All of the route was either county roads or good Forest Service roads. At the top was the Continental Divide. This is the Loretta’s Sherpa Hat moment! Of course not to be out done, the guys had their moment as well! It was a beautiful day! Cool,

but sunny and with little wind. We traveled to Sargent, Colorado, a small town along US 50. It did have a gas station and cafe. So we took a lunch break and rest!

All in all we did about 60 miles! Not bad for our last trip. We did a total of 827.8 miles in Colorado! In Utah we did a minimum of 250.0 miles for a total of 1077.2 miles! Compare that with 1,879.2 miles put on the motorhome since we left Tucson in May!

We are now in Nebraska, near Grand Island. Ron has a sister that lives here and he also needed to get Nebraska plates for the car he bought in AZ(his truck was stolen). We also have friends here, Dottie and Duane Dudney. We met them in Kerrville,Texas, when we stayed at Guadalupe Rv park. We had lunch and caught up on all the news of the folks we stayed with in Texas for 4 years.

Wednesday we move on to Lincoln Ne. More relatives of Ron and Loretta to visit! Loretta and I will then leave Brody and the motorhome with R&L and we will travel back to Illinois for a visit with our kids, grand kids and friends! Then it is back to NE.,to start our trip back to Tucson!

So keep your powder dry and your gun clean and until the next post, Happy Trails!
